Day 61 Weir Creek to Lewiston ID

Biking total 47
Trip total 3284
(Hitching/busing 100ish)

The bad news is today, about 50 miles into some of the most beautiful wilderness we have biked through so far, the smoke became so thick we could barely see or breath never mind bike.

The good news is as soon as I stuck my thumb out; Glen and Patty (Patty's family goes back to the 1800s living in this part of Idaho) immediately stopped to pick us up. (The current fire situation in the Northwest has the same effect as snowstorms do in the northeast as in they make everyone really nice and help one another).
They brought us to Kamiah where some locals at a park told us about a $2 bus ride to Lewiston. So that's where we are now. Our original plan was to call it quits (Lowell Idaho is just as good an ending point as Sunnyside Washington anyway, right) and beg Karl to come pick us up. The new plan is to keep at it, and bike two long days into Sunnyside. The smoke is less thick in these parts and we are not quite willing to write such a tragic ending to this story.

Sorry about the lack of pictures but the smoke was really too thick to see anything.
