Day 48 Dubois to Grand Teton Nat Park

Day total 70
Trip total 2,769

After saying good to our camping mates (5 middle aged guys on motorcycles from Alvin Texas), we set off today under ominous looking skies, but with optimistic spirts,  because today we were off to Grand Teton National Park. This is a destination we have been looking forward to for many miles. The Teton lived up to all of our expectations. Soaring specular and majestic above Jackson lake. Grand Teton reaches 13,000 ft and looks as impressive as it sounds.

The national park itself however we are less than impressed with so far the crowds of American tourist gives the park a Disney Land like feel that is a bit unsettling. Also, everything is so expansive. So far we have paid $40 to enter the park, $67 to sleep in this weird glorified tent shelter thing (the last spot available, which granted you could argue is our fault for not reserving a spot earlier, but when you are biking it is hard to always accurately predict your future whereabouts) $8.50 to shower (no the $67 dollar camp site does not come with free showers; ( and $56 on dinner out (burgers, beers and salad).

The expanse of the park is problematic for me on several levels;

1. I am currently f unemployed, which although awesome in many ways is not lucrative believe it or not.

2. I have a moral issue with natural spaces being inaccessible and this whole Natural Park thing seems to be a barrier to the those that don't own RVs.
