Second photo dump.

Some very cool carved brick sculptures in Reidsville.  Sara M. The jugglers are for you.

Is our gas station managers learning?

In Old Fort NC (named such because it had a fort there for a long time, guarding the bottom of the gap that leads to Asheville) there was this very cool looming house.

And then the climb.  We both dreaded it.  1200 feet in less than 6 miles.  But it was up old highway 70 now converted to a dedicated bike trail.  Perfected graded and following the contours of the mountains.

Which meant we were going slow enough to take my first bike digital self portrait.  (A selfie. A term I shall refrain from using again as it makes me hate the world to type it.)

And here we are! Mountain hipster Mecca.

An impressive gate.  I wasn't aware that a certain West Coast brewery was now in Asheville doing power generation as a side business.

A certain other Westish Coast brewery (with a name not dissimilar to Old Netherlands) is setting up shop very close to where we are staying  just tanks and some half finished buildings currently though.
