Day total 55

There are a few factors that significantly slow us down; hills, rain, farmers markets, breweries and wineries, apart from the first we have recently been inundated by all four. Around two in the morning last night we woke up to the most sever thunderstorms I have ever experienced. It turned out our haphazard semi sketchy campsite was a blessing in disguise. Instead of camping in an open field as is custom when you camp anywhere, we were under a pavilion save from the rain and more importantly lightening. We spent a slow morning waiting for the rain to clear while sipping coffee from a local gas station.
Now that we are on the blessed Katy Trail the rain and more significantly the wineries have given us reason to slash our daily mileage in half and take it slow.
We will be enjoying this new pace into tomorrow when we plan to bike a meager 45 miles from our current location, a self service bike hostel (previously general store and then church), where we are spending the night along with Bethany from Virginia (who recent quit a life time of corporate work for bike touring), to a bed and breakfast located in some a vineyard. Life is hard for the fun employed.
Historical Note
Today we followed a route close to that which Lewis and Clark took through Missouri. The primary difference being when they are hunting deer and bison we were hunting local wines, both with considerable success.
