Again, since we were planning on leaving on the 26th, I tried to capture as much of the area as possible. Particularly things I hadn't really noticed, or paid attention to, yet.
Hydrangeas in the neighbors yard. The scout hut and boxing house nearby, as well.
The mural on the play house, next door to the scout hut.
The carved wooden dog thing had reindeer antlers for Christmas.
On the way to the Espresso ship, the two limestone faces had leaned up against each other long before they bored a tunnel through for the road.
Unfortunately, the Espresso Ship was closed for Christmas, so I didn't get my afternoon espresso on the water.
Good bye, Marina! And this view of the Golden bay.
A great range of hydrangeas. I wonder if they were purposely pH controlled for this spread of color or not.We had made one more last trip to Pohara beach, to say good bye.
But on the way home, ran into Sarah, so went back again.
The beach was crowded, for Pohara standards. Rather than the typical 1-5 people on the mile long beach, there might have been 20 or 30. Just like Coney Island, people, just like that.
And into town for Christmas Carols "by Candlelight". Except the sun doesn't go down until 9:15 on Christmas, so it was more "By Sunset"
Oh Takaka, you are so adorable. Maybe we should just move here, if nothing else to hear a bunch of Kiwis sing "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" out of tune in this kind of weather.
