A good morning. Breakfast, a run back up that trail (in which I forgot to bring the camera), and then the train back into the city.
I made the mistake of thinking it was going to be warm enough to wear shorts (it wasn't), so as we walked through the civic center of Wellington--We stopped in the Wellington museum to warm up (and, of course, use the restroom).
It wasn't the best exhibits, but also seemed to be halfway between exhibits, so we don't blame it too much.
We then went back to Te Papa, and spent a couple more hours looking at the history of New Zealand. We learned about the massive migrations (both voluntary and forced) of various island cultures in the Pacific to New Zealand, the founding document of modern New Zealand (the Waitangi treaty), and visited the Earthquake simulator in the museum (a little cheesy, but fun nonetheless).
Back on the train, more pictures.
This is evidently the typical afternoon. But still beautiful.
The train tickets are cool little thick cardboard stubs.
Ah yes, Milo. Milo is a powdered drink, sort of like Nestle Quik, but with malted milk in place of most of the sugar. Sort of strange, but I love it.
Lisa's cat, whose name I cannot recall. It had been stalking a bird's nest all day, and brought home a little present.
Dinner of eggs in a nest, and then another relatively cool night. We were ready this time, and crashed pretty well.
